Never have so many items from the stores of the worlds greatest film studio's & costume designers ever been on display. Some of the items to be shown include Audrey Hepburn's iconic little black dress by Hubert de Givenchy, Dorothy's gingham dress & Marilyn Monroe's barely their dress as Sugar Kane from Some Like it Hot.

The exhibition will be split into 3 sections so the visitor can see how the designer evolves the characters costume from the script to screen. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these costumes which are either privately owned or kept in special storage by the studio's.

The exhibition has been sponsored by iconic jewellery brand Harry Winston & is curated by Prof. Deborah Nadolmann Landis whose design credits include: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Michael Jackson's Thriller & Coming to America (Oscar nominated).

The exhibition opens on 20 October 2012 & runs til March 2013. For more details contact the V & A.
