Yana Cosmetics Foundation Review

Yana Cosmetics Foundation

Since summer has officially arrived... well 2 days last week!

So its time for me to get my summer foundation!

Even though I'm black the fact that the sun has now come out means that I will have to change from my winter foundation to a summer foundation. All skin tones change over the summer when the sun comes out - even in Wales where the sun never comes out to play!

This year instead of heading to my usual place to get a new foundation I've decided to give Yana Cosmetics a try.

Yana Cosmetics are a brand that some of you may not of heard of but trust me its just a matter of time before your make up bag is brimming with their products. Yana Cosmetics was created by Dr Yana Johnson MBE and features foundation, eye shadows, lip glosses, lipsticks and blushers made to suit all skin tones and ethnicities.

Ladies of all skin tones are catered for with Yana Cosmetics
Yana cosmetics were one of the first brands to offer custom blended foundations and on their site they feature a rather handy shade finder which you can match your skin tone according to the celebrity you think your skin tone is most like.

I love this as sometimes its so difficult trying to figure out which shade you are if your buying a foundation over the internet. They also have a handy free app on iTunes to help you figure out your skin tone or you can buy a sample for just £1.50 & a full sized bottle is £25.

I thought my skin tone was similar to Oprah or Kelly Rowland but in the summer if I'm lucky I can get as fabulous as Missy Elliot. As the sun has only just come out I'm not certain which shade I will be just yet so I ordered 9, 10 & 11 to try out.

The samples arrived quickly and were filled to the brim with foundation. Yaaay!

Finding the perfect shade foundation with Yana Cosmetics
I swatched all 3 shades to see how they would look and I'm delighted with them.

The number 9 is a bit light for me but I'm thinking of using it under my eyes to cover any dark circles and also blending it out with 10. Number 10 is perfect - you can barely see it as it blends in so well. But number 11 is a little bit red based for me but I might be able to use it for contouring - I never let good make-up go to waste!

No. 10 The perfect shade blended straight in!
The foundation went on with good coverage, light enough to not be heavy on my skin during the summer but thick enough to cover a small blemish here and there.

I can't wait to fully try it out once the sun sticks around!

If your looking for a new foundation or a new make-up brand try out Yana Cosmetics.
