Breaking Up Is Hard To Do...

Broken heart, Breaking Up, Splitsville

This time of year is rife with relationship breakdowns. This is mainly due to all the stress regarding where to spend Christmas and a crap Christmas present normally tips people over the edge.

But if you've recently been dumped how do you get over it?
I don't care if he cheated, he said you got to fat or he gave you no reason what-so-ever - the best thing you can do is shake it off.

Now I'm not saying be ignorant to what went wrong and hey, maybe you could do with losing 5lbs but don't let what he did or how you broke up define you for the next 6 months.

So how do you move on?

First of all cut him out of your life. Get his stuff out of your house, change the locks, change your Facebook status & take all the couple pics down.

You know what else? Cut his friends & family off as well.

I'm not saying blank them in the streets (I am) but a polite 'hello' is all you need. You don't need them reporting back to him about 'XYZ' e.g your weight gain, bad weave or roots needing a touch up! And you don't want to hear about him ramping around town with the money he still owes you/his brilliant new job/new supermodel girlfriend etc.

All By Myself, Breaking Up, Bridget Jones, Renee Zellweger, Splitting Up, Drowing Sorrrows, Vodka, Single Ladies
Who doesn't love vodka?
So once the dead weight and his crap is gone (this is best done in the first 24 hours for maximum effect), grab the vodka, put on some disco and throw some shapes. When you get to track 12 of the CD 'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor remember that yes, you will.

In 6 weeks time you'll be in a much better place.

But some things never change...

He will always be a-hole and you will always be fabulous!

  1. Thank goodness I'm married and I don't have to worry about this sort of thing anymore, lol! I do remember the pain of certain pre-marriage relationship breakups though. Tx

    1. Ha Ha Ha! Yes, that's one of the advantages of being married is not worrying about this kind of thing. But I guess the advice works just as well if someone was getting a divorce. Cut lose and move on ;)

    1. I don't think a break-up has to be messy but if he disrespected you then I think its important to cut ties.
