Years ago when I was a young gal about town I decided to have a couple of tattoo's.

But now as an older gal about town I can't help but wonder what my skin would look like without them....

I currently have 4 tattoo's - 3 are Chinese symbols & the last one is a tramp stamp. The one I'm thinking of getting rid of is on my arm - it's a little faded & stretched due to 'fatness'.

It's a little old and faded.. Am I ready to get rid of it?
Looking around there are lots of places that offer tattoo removal but most of them are based in London (boo). So I was delighted when I found Sk:n Clinics they do lots of different non-surgical skin treatments including laser hair removal & tattoo removal & they have a branch in Cardiff.

Result!

Over the last week I've read everything on tattoo removal to find out the pro's and cons. There are lots of pro's but the con's seem to be tattoo removal can be ineffective on black skin, there's a chance of Hypopigmentation & trace amounts of tattoo might be left. This can easily be combated by having a cover up tattoo or using body foundation.

This cover up looks great
There's lots to think about including the cost so for now I'm going to arrange a consultation with Sk:n and see where it leads me.

Will I get the treatment done or will I just stick to having chicken chow mein on my arm?

Update to follow........

  1. It is a small tattoo that could be covered up, if you want another tattoo that is. :) but it doesn't look too bad. Hope the consultation goes well.

  3. This is one of the reasons I would never have a tattoo, I am so indecisive that I would hate it a week later x

  4. I had a small tattoo on my leg which I had covered up with a huge piece, I have a couple more that I'd like to have changed but I'm not in any hurry as they are on my back so not visible.

  5. Good luck with whatever you decide. Knowing there's a way to remove something you dislike is great, but like you said there's so much research needed to prep before hand. x

  6. Good luck with it all! I am a big believer in you should think super hard in what you get, and I remember being quite dubious when I first got mine, but I love it and it's a part of me! So maybe get it covered up! It would be super easy and alot cheaper! Just get something you love :)

  7. Good luck with whatever you decide. I would probably opt for the cheaper, less risky option of a cover up personally. x

  14. I don't have tattoos but my daughters dad had someone's initial (not mine) on his chest and has just had to it covered up as laser removal wasn't something he felt comfortable with. Yours looks small enough to b covered with something nicer though if you decide to go down that route x

  17. Sounds expensive! Sometimes I fancy a little tattoo but I keep thinking how weird I'd look when I'm really old!

  19. I hope you find a solution that you're happy with. I'm so glad I don't have tattoos. I know I would have got something when I was young that I regretted now. I never was very sensible in my youth. Fortunately the pain put me off
